So your mind is a super car, always at full throttle and constantly pushing you to the point of fatigue? If yes, let me ask you something: “How do you feel about that?” Mental illness can sure make this ever-running engine feel as though it will destroy itself one day. I know it feels that way to me. But is it really that bad a thing?
No, really, is it really that bad a thing? Or can it be a sign of an unrecognized strength? Don’t get me wrong – mental illness is debilitating and very painful, and while it has to see, it has everything to do with this unrelenting brain of ours.
However, despite this, my mind’s constant bombardment of thoughts have given me some pretty great ideas. Like this blog, for instance. There are times when I feel like I’m a never-ending idea factory.
And since my never-ending wheel of ideas borders obsessiveness, writing is a great positive outlet because it allows me to channel my passions – which are the better bulk of what I consume my time over. Essentially, I love trying to make a difference. Blogging and book writing: that’s what helps me focus.

Ah, good old anxiety, what a crappy feeling. Am I right? While I will admit that I could live without its symptoms, it has been a tremendous help for me as I try to rescue my future. For instance, my book, The Road To Mental Wellness, (hopefully due out by the end of the year), had me thinking – okay, obsessing – about exactly how I wanted to market it. In fact, I have had a plan ever since I wrote the first chapter. In this instance, my passion for helping others, writing and my anxious mind have fused together to be a strength. Thank you, Anxiety! Such a weird thing to say.
